The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors helps guide Summit Counseling Services by reviewing policies and procedures, supporting agency oversight, and helping ensure the mission is carried out. The board also supports continuity and safety for clients, staff, and the communities we serve. The board meets quarterly and as needed.

Brenda
Board Member
Brenda is one of the founders of Summit Counseling Services and serves as a board member. Her vision to expand behavioral health services for rural North Dakota has helped shape Summit’s growth and service model. She has more than 20 years of experience in the helping profession and continues to support the mission with compassion and leadership.
Brian Lawton
Board Member
Brian joined Summit Counseling Services as a grant writer in 2018 and later moved into the North Dakota education system, continuing to grow his career and education. He understands the mission of Summit Counseling Services and is a strong supporter of expanded access to care. Brian resides in Williston.
Allison Traynor, LCSW
Board Member
Allison has been involved in many areas of mental health across North Dakota. She has worked in the state system, helped found a North Dakota suicide prevention nonprofit, served as a past Assistant Director of Summit Counseling Services, and continues supporting clients and community needs through her work in youth services. We are grateful to have her expertise and dedication on our Board of Directors.
Ashley Isaakson
Board Member
Ashley supports Summit Counseling Services through her experience in HR, administrative operations, and financial oversight. She brings valuable skills and insight that help strengthen governance and support the long-term stability of the organization.
Jennifer
Board Member
Jennifer has served as an ordained minister alongside her husband and has worked for more than two decades in a medical practice. She later became a victims advocate, supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Jennifer has supported multiple community initiatives and advocacy organizations in North Dakota and brings deep experience in community care and crisis response. One message she often shares is that while we cannot change yesterday, we can choose to live today with purpose and hope.
